Looking Through the Kaleidoscope

a story performance focusing on issues of diversity

Colorful, imaginative, and true stories that reflect the diversity of life and all its experiences. In this storytelling concert, Steffani skillfully blends original stories from her childhood experience of learning how a kaleidoscope works.  The images and words combine in a way that will inspire both children and adults to celebrate the things that make us different, while appreciating how similar we really are.  Bring the whole family and experience the fun of listening to stories together!

Cowpies & Conundrums
This is an hour long story about Utah's own Fremont Indian State Park.  Humorous, heart-breaking, history!  Steffani regales her own experience dreaming of being a famous archaeologist while uncovering the story of how Fremont Indian State Park came to be.  Steffani's Dad was one of the head archaeologists that excavated the site.  This story is based on first hand accounts and research.

Dreaming in the Daytime

Wake up your imagination to dream in the daytime!  An interactive storytelling performance where imagination takes center stage.  You can expect high energy. laughter and fun when children spontaneously create a story with Steffani.


Growing Up Gullible

Steffani was the classic gullible girl.  Funny stories from Steffani's childhood are the perfect way to inspire children (or adults) to try their hand at writing or telling stories from their own life.

Image Riding

Enhance your storytelling, writing and problem solving skills by learning to access images on demand using your imagination.  Experience a new level of creativity that will transform your abililty to create, adapt, and understand stories.  During this 16 hour intensive workshop you will gain access to your sensory intelligence and learn to craft stories using this personalized technique.  You will also connect with other workshop participants and become and gain new allies in the creative proceess.

Einstein once stated "Imagination is greater than knowledge."  Imagination generates possibilities.  Image Riding engages the part of the brain that generates ideas and understanding.  The ability to access and create endless images has changed the way Steffani appraches creativity and life.  The applications of this pwerful tool are incredible.  

Doug Lipman was instrumental in teaching Steffani this technique and has given her his blessing to develop her own style in teaching it.  Steffani has successfully taught many people how to do Image Riding and she continues to foster a community of people who practice Image Riding and practice being allies for each other in the creative process.  Contact her for interest in her next available class.

Story Creation through Imagination

 Students will create believable characters, a setting rich in sensory detail, and use their imagination to create a brand new story using guided imagery.  Following this process will lead them to endless story-making possibilities.

The hardest part of telling a personal story is finding an idea.  Steffani will use a personal tale of her own as a springboard to help you (children or adults) dive into your own tellable tales.  Specially planned activities will get you talking about your memories and help you make them into stories.

Digging Up and Frying the Big Potato

This workshop is designed to help you discover the most important idea in a story.  A series of activities will inspire you to look deeper into the stories you are creating and make decisions about what details will support the message you desire to convey.

A good story isn't delivered in a string of memorized words - it comes as dynamic images, vibrant vocal qualities and genuine gestures.  In this workshop you will learn to speak through the power of imagination instead of memorization.

Storytelling Nuts and Bolts

Simple steps to a stupendous performance.  Steffani will model storytelling and introduce you to the basics of making a story come to life.  Children will effectively learn to use the five tools of a storyteller: voice, expression, gesture, words and imagination.  You will also get tips on 21finding the right story for you.

When 'The End' just doesn't cut it.  We will explore what it takes to create a satisfying ending.  Come and discover the patterns of crafting effective finishes by studying the endings of great stories.  Bring a story you are working on to apply what you learn.

Learn to develop a great story using well placed questions.  This activity-based workshop will help bring out the sensory imagery, dialogue, character development, and meaning in your stories.  It will also help you master the art of effective questioning.  Bring a story you've been working on and a curious mind.

Tell it Again!
What does someone learn from telling the same stories over and over again?  Come find out!  Bring a five minute story to this workshop and be ready to share it again and agian and again.  We will discuss how stories evolve and develop as you tell them and how you can learn to use audience feedback to edit on the spot.
